They were making Ginseng[Insam] in Kaesong(개성 開城), the ‘Home of ginseng’.
Will it be a dream when a good day comes sooner and South and North Korea jointly produce ginseng and regain the world market?
※ ‘Song-do(송도 松都)’ ; It was the capital of Goryeo(고려 高麗) as the old name of ‘Kaesong(개성 開城)’, a famous producing area for Ginseng[Insam] and is currently located in North Korea.

‘고려 인삼(高麗人蔘 Goryeo/Koryo ginseng)’은 다른 나라의 인삼과는 종자(種子)는 물론이고, 영어와 한자 표기 모두가 다르다.
-> 즉, ‘Korean ginseng(高丽人参)’ 의 바른 표기는 ‘Korean INSAM(高麗人蔘)’ 이 맞다.
또한 ‘Korean redginseng(高丽紅参)’ 의 바른 표기는 ‘Korean redINSAM(高麗紅蔘)’ 이다.

한자 어원(語源)의 단어가 비교적 많은 🇰🇷대한민국(남한, 南韓) 보다 ‘순수 우리말 표현’을 강조하는 🇰🇵 조선민주주의인민공화국(북한, 北韓)을 알기에 그들의 사이트에서 “redinsam(홍삼 紅蔘)” 을 발견하고는 새삼 적지 아니 놀랐고, 또한 반가웠다.
비록 인삼, 홍삼 제품들과 공장 시설은 뒤쳐졌고…한국전쟁(1950-1953)의 발발 책임 등을 왜곡하는 프로파간다 사이트였지만..역시나 ‘인삼(人蔘)의 본고장‘ 개성(開城)에서도 인삼을 만들고 있었다.
하루속히 좋은 날이 와서 남북이 함께 인삼(人蔘)을 만들어 세계시장(世界市場)을 되찾을 때는 꿈일까?
